
Zhiping Song
Professor
Zhiping Song is a Board Member and Dean of the Entrepreneur Business School at Shanghai University, and a Distinguished Professor at the School of Economics. She is also the Chairwoman of Cornell Group, a leading chemical enterprise headquartered in Jilin. Zhiping has spent three decades building and transforming high-risk chemical and new-materials operations in Northeast China. She successfully acquired Sweden’s International Chemical Group, breaking global technology monopolies and advancing China’s downstream chemical materials sector; her aniline output once surpassed that of DuPont. Throughout her career, Song has faced severe project setbacks and financial crises, yet she is known for her resilience and ability to lead her company through adversity. A strong advocate of social responsibility, she has donated over $10 million to education and public welfare, including funding the Song Zhiping Gymnasium at Jilin University. Today, she is committed to integrating academic insight with industrial practice, promoting innovation-driven development and cultivating future leaders with both business acumen and social responsibility.
