
Jack Y. Liu, MD, MHQS, CCP
Professor
Dr. Liu is a hospital executive, cardiac surgeon, and certified clinical cardiovascular perfusionist. He currently serves as Chief Quality Officer at New England Enterprise, LLC. He earned a master’s degree in Healthcare Quality and Safety from Harvard Medical School after receiving his medical degree from Southeast University Medical School, and he practiced clinically for many years in both China and the United States. Throughout his career, Dr. Liu has held numerous academic and clinical leadership roles, including assistant professor of surgery, hospital vice president, and chief quality officer, with professional experience spanning institutions across the East and West Coasts. His clinical expertise is evidenced by more than 3,000 open-heart procedures, while his administrative accomplishments include establishing a brand-new clinical department within a healthcare system and successfully turning around underperforming services at hospitals in New Jersey and New York. On behalf of Brigham & Women’s Hospital and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, he also led the development of a comprehensive hospitalwide quality and safety system at an international cancer hospital, which successfully passed inspection by a team of experts from Brigham and Women’s Hospital. As a committed advocate for the advancement of healthcare quality and safety, Dr. Liu has authored numerous articles and blog posts to bridge clinical practice, system-level improvement, and education.
