Co-Dean and Professor

Dr. Olympia A. Gellini (born Antonio Gellini) is an internationally recognized film executive, producer, director, and cultural entrepreneur whose work has elevated family entertainment and advanced the arts as a bridge across cultures. He is the Founder of the World Film Institute (WFI), creator of the Family Film Awards, and Founder and President of the Olympia Awards – Arts of the World— platforms designed to celebrate excellence while encouraging storytelling rooted in shared human values. Raised across 23 countries as the son of a diplomat, Dr. Gellini developed rare cultural fluency and a global perspective that continues to define his mission. He pursued advanced studies in film and earned a Ph.D. in humanities, becoming fluent in multiple languages that supported his cross-border creative collaborations. Through WFI, he built an international nonprofit platform dedicated to entertainment excellence and greater inclusion across race, gender, and ethnicity in the industry. Dr. Gellini created the Family Film Awards to spotlight positive, multigenerational programming; the show honored leading Hollywood talent and reached mass audiences on major U.S. networks. In recent years, he has expanded his vision through collaboration with Dr. Jeannie Yi, helping relaunch the Family Film Awards and launching the Olympia Awards in New York—while advancing the ambitious concept of “Olympia City of Light” as a next-generation global cultural destination.
