Amy Chua is the John M. Duff, Jr. Professor of Law at Yale Law School and one of the most influential legal scholars and public intellectuals of her generation. A graduate of Harvard College and Harvard Law School, where she served as Executive Editor of the Harvard Law Review, she has also taught at Duke University, Columbia University, New York University, and Stanford University. Her academic work focuses on international business transactions, law and development, and the intersection of markets, democracy, and ethnic conflict. Professor Chua is widely known for her bestselling books, including World on Fire and Day of Empire, which have been translated into numerous languages and praised for their sweeping analysis of globalization and geopolitical power. Her memoir Battle Hymn of the Tiger Mother became a global cultural phenomenon, sparking worldwide debate on education, parenting, and meritocracy, while her novel The Golden Gate marked her debut in fiction.
